Whether you are playing football or golfing, sports injuries can happen to anyone. We have a long history and passion for treating sports and recreational activity related injuries and our goal is to get you back to the course, court, hiking trail, ski run or field as soon as possible. White Mountain works closely with local high schools often providing pro bono services and volunteer work to help local athletes

at Blue Ridge, Show Low, Snowflake and Mogollon High Schools return to action.

KNEE, HIP AND BUTTOCK PAIN

Walking, running, standing, squatting...the legs do a lot for us and living with a leg injury can be debilitating and painful. Whether it’s a strained muscle a fracture, or a recent surgery, we hope you’ll let us get you back to 100%. Some of the common injuries and surgeries we provide physical therapy for include: Hip replacements, hip labral repairs, hip fractures, ACL tears/repairs, knee replacements, meniscus repairs, MCL tears/repairs, tibial plateau fractures and more.

ELBOW, HAND AND WRIST

Some of the common injuries and surgeries we treat include: Extensor and flexor tendon repairs, tenosynovitis, wrist and finger fractures, carpal tunnel, tennis and golfer’s elbow (lateral/medial epicondylitis), cubital tunnel syndrome, reduced elbow ROM and/or weakness and more.

AQUATIC THERAPY

Aquatic therapy or pool therapy, is physical therapy performed in the water. This is an excellent option for patients that have difficulty weight bearing or standing for long periods after an injury or surgery. It often allows patients who have difficulty moving on land a safe and comfortable alternative to do therapy in, as the water reduces the weight distributed throughout the body. Aquatic therapy is often prescribed for patients with low back pain, lower extremity injuries, chronic pain and shoulder or neck pain. We are the only privately owned clinic in the White Mountains that offers aquatic therapy services.

DRY NEEDLING

Dry needling is the use of either solid filiform needles (also referred to as acupuncture needles) or hollow-core hypodermic needles for therapy of muscle pain, including pain related to myofascial pain syndrome. It is often used to treat acute

back pain and muscle tightness throughout the body.

LOWER BACK AND NECK PAIN

It is estimated that back pain affects up to 80% of the population and can be caused by everything from auto accidents to gardening. White Mountain Physical Therapy has highly skilled therapists with successful histories of treating back pain through specific therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, modalities and other skilled treatments. We love watching our patients go from debilitating pain and suffering to return to healthy, active lifestyles. Please don’t live with your acute or chronic back pain for one more minute and set up an appointment today!

FOOT AND ANKLE PAIN

Many people do not understand how painful a foot injury can be until they have one. No matter if you have chronic ankle sprains or underwent surgery, White Mountain Physical Therapy will have you back on your feet in no time. Common injuries and surgeries we treat include: ankle sprains, ankle replacements, ankle fractures, achilleas tendinopathy/tears/repairs, Lisfranc injuries, bunionectomy and plantar fasciitis.

SHOULDER INJURIES

Shoulder injuries often seem to come on without any warning. Sometimes it’s as simple as reaching up or sleeping awkwardly on a shoulder that will bring on immense pain. In addition to our other specialties, we are also the leader in shoulder rehabilitation in all of the White Mountain’s communities, including: Show Low, Pinetop, Lakeside, Heber, Overgaard, Snowflake and Taylor. Some of the common shoulder injuries and surgeries we treat include: Rotator cuff repairs, shoulder replacements, reverse total shoulder replacements, muscle strains, numbness and tingling in the shoulder and more.

SPORTS PERFORMANCE TRAINING

WMPT offers conditioning and sports performance training for people of all ages. Whether you are looking for a wellness program to prevent injury and improve your overall health (cardiovascular, bone health, etc) or are an athlete hoping to improve your agility and speed, we can help you achieve your goals through customized wellness plans and/or training.

THE GRASTON TECHNIQUE

The Graston Technique is a therapeutic method for diagnosing and treating disorders of both muscles and connective tissue. This treatment utilizes a collection of six stainless steel tools of particular shape and size, which are used to rub patients' muscles in order to detect and resolve adhesions in the muscles and tendons. Practitioners must be licensed (certified) by the parent corporation (Graston Technique, LLC.) in order to use the patented instruments.
